An evening ride through cotton fields brings us to a lovely town of modern Delphi
The following morning brings a splendid view from the hotel balcony and an interesting trip through ancient oracle of Delphi. An evening trip to the beach brings the best of Greece.
Delphi was only a milestone on our way to Pindos mountains. First day, a scenic dirtroad track allows us to reach the Kaliakouda pass from where we hike the Kaliakouda mountain (2101 m). The skyes are clear and the views are breathtaking. On the way back quite accidentally we run at Panta Vrechei Gorge - a nice refreshment after a day of hiking.
The sunset makes the day!
We were surprised by a lush vegetation on the slopes of mountain Chelidonia (1975 m). A partly cloudy day and distant showers added the beautifull scenery.
Prousos monastery overlooking a deep ravine, a Black Cave waterfall and the cave itself make a pleasant and picturesque day trip.
Breakfast in beautiful surrounding and a hike to Sympetheriako mountain (2013 m) with views of Tymfristos (2013 m).
Goodbye Pindos. Off we go to Lefkada island!
Lefkada welcomes us with a beautifull Diavassidia beach separating the sea and interesting lagoons spreading between the island and the mainland.
One of the main attractions of the island's inland, the Nidri waterfall is dry at the time of our visit. Nonetheless, the rocky gorge leading to the fall and a coozy cafe under a great plane tree at the gorge entrance certainly make the place worth a visit
But the greatest attraction of the island are its clifs and beaches at the eastern shore. Blue sky, white cliffs and truquoise water make the scenery unforgetable.
Porto Katsiki beach is the best we've enjoyed in Lefkada
Yet, there is still inland to explore!
The time passes by imperceptibly and it is time to head for Athens. On the road two engineering marvels from two centuries. The XXI-st century Rion-Antirion bridge over the Gulf of Corinth, one of the longest cable styled bridges in the world and the Corinth canal across the Strait of Corinth completed in XIX-th century
And finally Athens, a historic marvel, a cultural centre, a vibrant turist destination and a lot more
Thank you for follwoing us on our journey. Hope you enjoyed!
